New Improved JAL Fares

You can change your itinerary with no change fees using the Special fare in addition to the Flex fare.

Only itineraries originating in the United States (excluding Hawaii and Guam), Canada or Mexico and traveling to Asia (excluding Australia and India) are applicable.

The new fare rules apply to bookings on flights that have a JL flight number. Flights with the flight number of another airline are not applicable.

Flex and Special fares are available in all cabin classes. Special Saver fares are only available in Economy class.

No. The rules in place at the time of ticket purchase apply, so the new fare rules will not apply to tickets purchased before December 1, 2021. However, JAL international tickets including flights to/from North America and purchased between June 11, 2020 and November 30, 2021 are eligible for one free change to the first flight sector departing on/after December 1, 2021 and unlimited free changes for subsequent flights.

There is no limit on the number of times you can change your booking, but please bear in mind the maximum validity date of the ticket.

If changes are not made prior to the original flight departure time, the free change rule will not apply.

When itinerary changes result in any fare, tax, or surcharge differences, the difference will be collected or refunded, as required.
