JAL Introduces B747-400s on Vancouver and Mexico City Routes to Tokyo |
El Segundo, CA - September 20, 2004 - From October 1, 2004, Japan Airlines will begin operating its Vancouver - Narita and Mexico - Narita (via Vancouver) routes with Boeing 747-400 aircraft. The new aircraft will allow the carrier to increase both passenger and cargo capacity on these routes by ten percent. The B747-400 aircraft will offer a two-class cabin with 55 seats in Executive Class-Seasons and 393 seats in Economy Class. JAL's Skyluxe seats will be available in business class and the carrier will install firmer, more contoured seats in JAL Economy Class featuring individual screens in each seatback. JAL's MAGIC entertainment system will be available in both classes giving passengers a choice of the latest movies, games or music from around the world. Telephones are also available either at the passenger's seat or within the cabin. JAL currently operates seven weekly flights between Vancouver and Tokyo, and two weekly flights between Mexico and Tokyo.
