April 2, 2002 On April 18, Japan Airlines will open a new lounge facility -- the Sakura Lounge Annex -- on the fourth floor of Narita Airport Terminal 2 for special category passengers. It features a British pub-style bar, bedrooms for tired transit travelers, massage services, a business corner equipped with broadband wireless access for free Internet connection, a library and a theater-style audio-visual lounge. Incorporating feedback from passengers and employees, the new lounge is focused on providing a more entertaining and relaxing atmosphere than conventional airport lounges. With the capacity for some 340 guests, the 13,000-square-foot Sakura Lounge Annex can be used by JAL First and Executive Class -- Seasons (business class) passengers, those with full-fare Economy tickets (some routes excepted), JAL Global Club members and members of the JAL Mileage Bank holding 'Optimo' and 'Grande' service-category cards.
