Miles are valid until the last day of the 36th month following the month of the flight (transaction) date.*
You can easily check the validity of miles online. Please enjoy a full 36 months to redeem your miles.
For example: Any miles earned on JAL Group flights in August 1 will remain valid until August 31, three years later.
- When you are on a waitlist for a JAL International Award TIcket or other awards, required miles will be deducted from your account once your seat is confirmed. Miles can be redeemed for awards only when your award seat is confirmed from the waitlist and you have the required number of miles in your account.
- If you do not redeem your miles for an award within the validity period, the miles will expire.
- Japan time will be used to determine the miles expiration time.
Miles expiration time will be 00:00 Japan time on the first day of every month.

U.S., Canada, Central & South America, and Guam : Miles expire at 7 a.m. U.S. Pacific Time on the day before the expiration date.*1
Europe, the Middle East, and Africa : Miles expire at 3 p.m. U.K. time on the day before the expiration date.*2
Asia (excluding Japan) and Oceania : Miles expire at 11 p.m. Hong Kong time on the day before the expiration date.
- Miles expire at 8 a.m. on the day before the expiration date when U.S. Pacific Daylight Time is applicable.
- Miles expire at 4 p.m. on the day before the expiration date when U.K. Daylight Time is applicable.
