Flight Hotel Diving Activity
If you wish to fly with JAL and book a package including **hotel accommodations** and **Mikomoto Diving**, please follow the instructions below.
Booking Flow:
- Book your flight to/from Japan and select the dates you wish to visit.
- Select “Only need a hotel for part of my trip” and choose the dates you want to stay. Input **Shimoda** in the location,It is where Mikomoto Diving is located.
- Please choose from the hotels listed below (*). If you wish to receive the free pick-up and drop-off service from Mikomoto Hammers, choose one of the listed hotels.
- If you cannot find a hotel from the Hotel list below(※) on the JAL website, please book thrugh Plan3 **Diving Activity** and then book your accommodation through other online travel platforms such as Booking.com, Agoda, or Hotels.com. - After booking your hotel, select your desired **diving option** under the “Add an activity” section.

Please inform us in advance via the reservation form, as Mikomoto Hammers can arrange a free pick-up and drop-off service for guests who have booked diving through JAL.
**Important:** Taxis in Shimoda cannot be pre-booked, and they are in limited supply. If you do not have your own means of transportation, we strongly advise against booking hotels that are not within walking distance of Shimoda Station, as the dive shop will not be able to provide pick-up and drop-off services to hotels located further away.

An Extra Checked Baggage allowance for Sports Equipment (eg: skis, clubs, diving gear and bicycles)
Fly Japan Airlines to enjoy Skiing, Golf, Diving and Cycling in Japan. For a limited time, we are offering an extra checked baggage allowance for overseas travelers bound for Japan with their sports equipment.

HOW TO APPLY
• To apply, please contact our contact center no later than one day prior to your flight’s departure date.
• In case of a reservation change, please contact our contact center at your location.
COMMON RULE
1) Campaign applicable contents: Sports Equipment (Ski and snowboard equipment, golf equipment, bicycles, diving equipment, including underwater photography equipment) are exempted from 1PC of excess baggage charge (Fee for Exceeding Free Baggage PC).
For Ski・Snowboard equipment, bicycles, excess size charge will also be exempted from the excess baggage charge (Fee for Exceeding Baggage Size).
2) Maximum size and weight:
Size: Length+ Height+ Width=Total less than 203cm
Weight: F/C 1PC 32kg ,Y/PY 1PC 23kg
APPLICABLE EQUIPMENT
Diving and Underwater Photography Equipment
1) 1 PC of excess baggage (Fee for Exceeding Free Baggage PC) shall be exempted.
When the weight of checked baggage exceeds the free allowance, extra charge is applied.
2) Handling Precautions
Batteries for diving equipment (Light) or cameras must be removed from the main body under dangerous goods regulations.
3) When diving equipment and underwater photography equipment will be accepted, be sure to have the Limited Release signed and placed on the Baggage TAG. Make sure that the passengers diving equipment and underwater photography equipment are well protected.

Campaign period: until March 31, 2025
* Note: If a passenger journey begins during the above period, special handling will continue to apply even after March 31, 2025 for returning flight departing from Japan
Eligibility
• Eligible Passengers
Passengers who take applicable flights with applicable international air tickets and who apply to JL contact center in their respective areas to apply for this campaign by one day before their departure date.
• Eligible itinerary : Itineraries originating from outside of Japan, and its final destination is Japan
• Eligible Ticket
Passengers need to purchase the air ticket outside of Japan. The eligible fare types are fares that are only available outside of Japan.

International tickets including applicable flights (regardless of the ticketing carrier)
International sector includes award ticket and GRP PNR tickets
For domestic flight sector, sector issued within international through itinerary.
Japanese Domestic Flex fare, Japan Explorer Pass、Japan Explorer Pass Plus、JAL Japan Airpass issued by international ticket.

International JL flights and JL/NU domestic flights (However, FDA, GK, AMX, RAC and ORC operated flights are excluded.)
* Not applicable to other carrier market codeshare flights and itineraries travelling via Japan
* Not applicable to through-check-in itinerary for connecting to/from another carrier operated flights
Handling in case of transit
• Connecting passengers to/from JAL Domestic flights
[NOTE]
* The international flights must be JL operated flights with JL flight numbers.
* In case of connecting to/from other airline's international flight, this campaign applies only for JAL domestic flights.
Only passengers who have separate tickets for international sector and domestic sector will be eligible.
Through check-in baggage to/from international sector is not permitted.
• Connecting passengers beyond JL International Online Airports
This campaign applies only for JAL operating flights.
Notice Regarding Diving at Mikomoto
Diving with hammerhead sharks at Mikomoto is different from the recreational diving you usually enjoy. The primary objective of this dive is to encounter schools of hammerhead sharks, and the dive is specifically designed for that purpose.
Preparation for the Day

Current Navigation: Be prepared to swim against the current. Please bring fins with good propulsion.

Pre-Dive Preparation: Due to the size of the boat, all divers will need to have their gear suited up and be ready for entry before arriving at the entry point. Everyone needs to enter the ocean at the same time to avoid being separated from your own group due to fast currents.

Stay Close to the Guide: Rapid changes in current can occur in this area, so it is essential to stay close to the guide. All divers in a group must follow the guide’s instructions in English for entry, exit and during the dive without delay. Sudden up current and down current might sweep you away from the group if you are not close.

Dive Duration: To prevent exhaustion and ensure safety, dives in the Mikomoto area are limited to 30 minutes. For some dives, you will need to finkick for a long time making your air cumsumption larger than usual.Also the dive boat needs to pick up different groups from the open sea, surface timing needs to be the same with other groups.

Gear Management: Divers are required to set up and change their tanks on land or on the boat themselves.Please keep in mind that there will be no staff to help you.
Please ensure you are both physically and mentally prepared for this unique diving experience!
-Equipment rental is not included in the fee.
Full set rental: 6,000 yen per day (tax included).
For safety management, each person must have a dive computer and emergency float when diving
As there is only a limited number of rental items, please be sure to request them when making your reservation or bring your own items.
We are unable to provide rentals for individuals who is over 200 cm in height or weigh more than 100 kg.Please bring your own diving gear with you.
- For Mikimoto hammers pick up and down service :
If arriving the day before your diving reservation date, please arrange your own transportation (or arrange a hotel shuttle where available) from Izu-Kyū Shimoda Station to your hotel. There will not be any transfer service for this situation.
