JAL inaugurated flight services to Hawai‘i 70 years ago. During this time, JAL created many inspiring travel memories with our customers. We will now offer new fare plans by leveraging our experiences and refined hospitality for the future.

While empathizing with the Hawai‘i residents yearning to cherish ahupua‘a, Hawai‘i’s unique land division, JAL will contribute to Hawai‘i by bridging the islands with Japan.

The JAL Mahalo Fare, a New Travel Option

With our experience and refined hospitality, we are pleased to offer a new "JAL Mahalo fare" to our customers. By purchasing the JAL Mahalo Fare, a portion of the ticket price will go to non-profit organizations dedicated to preserving’s coastlines, species, and culture through Mālama 1.

JAL Mahalo fares are subject to change and refund. It is a new fare option that allows you to enjoy Hawai’i at your convenience with a flexible itinerary, while at the same time contributing to the preservation of Hawai‘i's environment and culture Āina.

Mahalo means "thank you" in Hawaiian.
The JAL Mahalo Fare is our way of expressing our gratitude and respect for the historic environment and culture in Hawai’i with our customers as we continue to walk with Hawai’i in the future as we did in the past.

What JAL is Supporting

In Hawai’i, the concepts of Aloha ‘Āina and Mālama ‘Āina, are widely adopted by local residents. Based on Ahupua‘a, an original living community in Hawai’i, local non-profit organizations are perpetuating Hawaiian cultural heritage and values to the community and passing to the next generation, who will lead the future.
The Ahupua‘a system is consisted of Kai (Ocean) and ‘Āina (Land) categories. Through Mālama 1, JAL will support below organizations, which are engaged in activities in line with these categories.

Launch Campaign

As a token of our appreciation, customers can earn up to 500 miles per person who board an eligible ticket with the JAL Mahalo Fare through the JAL website.

Applicable Customers

JMB (JAL Mileage Bank) members who purchase JAL Mahalo fares by September 30, 2024
If the customer making the reservation/purchase and the passenger boarding the flight are different, the passenger boarding the flight will be eligible for the campaign.

Applicable Flights

Honolulu & Kona routes operated by JAL (excluding codeshares flights operated by partner airlines)

Campaign Period

From June 5, 2024 Until September 30, 2024

Notes

  • The JMB number must be registered in passenger name record (PNR) during the applicable period.
  • Reservation changes made by phone or at the airport after purchasing on JAL website are not eligible for this promotion.
  • Bonus miles will not be awarded if the reservation is cancelled at the time of mileage accrual.
  • Bonus miles will be awarded by the end of December 2024.
