Reservation changes and cancellations on website

This page describes the basic rules for changing and cancelling reservations.

Reservation changes are not available for certain fare types.

Not all changes/cancellations can be made on the JAL website.

Change/cancellation deadline

The departure time of the originally booked flight, or 20 minutes before the departure time of the newly booked flight after a reservation change, whichever is earlier.

  • If purchased via convenience store payment, Internet money transfer, or ATM transfer, changes requiring payment of a fare difference must be made at least two days prior to the departure date

Restrictions on changes/cancellations for select passengers on multi-passenger reservations

Changes/cancellations for select passengers on multi-passenger reservations cannot be processed on the website in the following situations. Please contact JAL Contact Center

  • Reservation was made using a Discount for the Disabled.
  • Reservation includes one or more segments for which boarding is already complete
