The Government of the Republic of Korea has introduced new entry measures that will require all those traveler to the Republic of Korea under visa waiver program to obtain a K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) prior to flights.
Effective September 1st, 2021, travelers taking flights for Seoul without a visa, will be asked to hold a K-ETA at the time of travel. Those who have not applied for a K-ETA may be denied boarding of flights.

K-ETA is temporarily exempted to the 22 countries/regions starting from April 1, 2023 to December 31, 2024, as part of a plan to support the revitalization of the tourism industry in relation to commemorating [Visit Korea Year (2023 - 2024)].
The exemption period has been extended.
Extended exemption period: January 1 - December 31, 2025
Kindly note, passengers from exempt countries may continue to apply for K-ETA, but will be charged a fee.
The K-ETA can be done through website. The response and issuance of the K-ETA will be sent via e-mail within 24 hours. Please apply for the K-ETA 72 hours before departure. During the application process, passport information and an email address, upload your face photo (not required when applying via mobile app) will be required. Also, payment of the application fee (KRW 10,000) needs to be completed using a credit card.
The validity of the K-ETA is three years or until the expiration date of the passport used to apply for the K-ETA (the K-ETA will no longer be valid if the passport expires first).
