Airport Standby
JAL offers passengers the option of standing by at the airport for open seats on same-day flights if there are no seats available on their desired flight.
Standby Procedure
Step1Receive a Standby Card
A Standby Card can be obtained from the Self Service Check-in and Ticketing Kiosk or airport counter. You will need to present the necessary boarding documents, such as an e-ticket itinerary/receipt.
Self Service Check-in and Ticketing Kiosk
Take the Standby Card and proceed to the security checkpoint. You cannot specify a flight when requesting a Standby Card.
If you wish to check baggage, notify a staff member and bring it to the boarding gate or the counter.
Step2Notification
When your notification time approaches, proceed to the specified notification location. JAL will verify your Standby Card and boarding pass.
The notification time and location are printed on the Standby Card.
