Notices

When departing from Hanoi (Noi Bai) International Airport, please note that one gas lighter, oil lighter or small box of match per passenger can be carried on board as cabin items.

Terminal 2 (International Flights) is located on the right from Terminal 1 (Domestic Flights).

On the 2nd floor, there are transit counters and immigration screening, area.Once you pass through immigration screening area, there are stairs/escalators to the 1st floor.On the 1st floor, there are stairs/elevators from the 2nd floor, baggage claim and customs.

Immigration

Depending on your purpose of stay and nationality, a visa may be required, so please check in advance.

If you need to apply for a visa

  • It is possible to apply for a visa upon arrival, but only if you have obtained a visa acquisition approval beforehand. (However, it can be inconvenient to obtain a visa upon arrival, so we recommend obtaining one in advance.)
  • If you do not have a visa, you will be subjected to forced repatriation (deportation).

Vietnam visa exemption for Japanese passport holders

  • There are several conditions attached to traveling without a visa, including being in possession of a return ticket or e-ticket receipt.
  • Please contact the Vietnamese embassy for further information.

Customs

After collecting your checked baggage, please proceed to the Customs counter. Passengers with items to declare must complete a customs declaration form and hand it to a customs official along with their passport. If there are any omissions on the form, you may be questioned by the official. Please be aware that checks on precious metals, cameras, and videos are particularly strict.  All baggage will be X-rayed. If you are making a foreign currency declaration, please accurately record the currency type and amount (only required if you have US$5,000 equivalent or more, including gold, silver, precious stones, etc.). Communications equipment cannot be brought in without obtaining prior permission from the Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communications .

Pets

Prior reservation is necessary if you wish to bring your pet, as the transportation environment within the aircraft needs to be prepared.

Please also be sure to check with the embassy or quarantine station at your destination for animal quarantine information such as import restrictions and required documentation.

Other Information

・It is possible to use travelers' checks and some credit cards in large hotels and restaurants.

・【Transfers】Customers who are connecting to Domestic terminal(Terminal 1), Airport complimentary shuttle bus service(NIA shuttle bus) is available.

At the 3rd floor boarding area, there are check-in counters and toilets.Once you pass through immigration control and security, there are toilets and stairs/escalators to the 4th floor BUSINESS CLASS LOUNGE.

Check-in

Check-in opens from 3 hours to 50 minutes prior to departure.
Please check in at the check-in counter for your airline.

Immigration

Please show your passport and boarding pass.

Carry-on baggage Security check

After undergoing a body check and having your baggage X-rayed, please make your way to the departures lobby.

Customs

Please show your passport and boarding pass to an official. Similar to arrival in the country, checks upon departure are strict, and baggage will be X-rayed by an official behind the check-in counter. It is not a problem if the amount of foreign currency you are taking out of the country is within the declared amount.

  • IMPORTANT
    • Antiques cannot be taken out of the country.
    • Video tapes cannot be taken out of the country unless there is a certificate showing they have been checked in advance.
    • A certificate is required when taking out USD$5,000 equivalent or more.
