Terminal 3
Departure regulations
Check-in
- Check-in opens 3 hours before departure to 1 hour before departure time.
- Please go to A counter in Terminal 3.
Security check
Your carry-on baggage will be examined, and there will be a check for liquids in your possession.
Restrictions on liquids, gels and aerosols as carry-on baggage
Passengers departing Chicago Airport on flight JL009 should undergo a Security check in Terminal 3. Passengers arriving at Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 and connecting to flight numbers JL009 on the same day can reach Terminal 3 by walking along the Concourse (near the gates after the security inspection). Please follow signs for Terminal 3. (However, it is necessary for checked baggage to have been checked through to Japan or beyond.)
Immigration
You do not have to go through Immigration when departing the United States.
Customs
There is no customs inspection when departing from the United States.

Other Information
Passengers connecting from American Airlines (including JAL codeshare flights operated by American Airlines) who already have a JL009 boarding pass, should proceed directly to the departure gate.
Please note that you may be asked to come to the counter or boarding gate to provide your passport information to the immigration authorities before you board your flight.
The Flagship Lounge and Admirals Club Lounge are also available to passengers who have lounge access.
