Passengers transferring to other airlines

Moving between terminals

Flights operated by JAL arrive at South Satellite. It is recommended that you use the walkway or Shuttle Train (STS:Satellite Transit System) to other departure gates.

1.Passengers transferring to Alaska Airlines or Delta Air Lines

Please check-in the baggages at Connecting Flights Ticketing counter in South Satellite.
Please proceed to the boarding gate after security inspection.

2.Passengers transferring to airlines other than Alaska Airlines or Delta Air Lines, who have completed the luggage check procedure for their final destination.

Please check-in the baggages at Baggage Recheck counter in South Satellite. Please proceed to the boarding gate after security inspection.
Passengers who have not checked in to the connecting flights can check in at either Connecting Flights Ticketing counter or the boarding gate.

3.Passengers transferring to airlines other than Alaska Airlines or Delta Air Lines, who have not completed the luggage check procedure for their final destination.

If there are no agent for your connecting airline at Connecting Flights Ticketing counter, please go through the arrival exit Take the Shuttle Train to the Main Terminal. Recheck the luggage at the counter of the airline you are using. Check-in for the connecting flight at the counter if you haven't done so already.

Boarding Pass

  • Japan Airlines passengers connecting onto other airline flights should receive a boarding pass for the other airline flight upon departure from Japan if there is an agreement between two airlines.
    However, system issues can sometimes mean that the connecting boarding pass cannot be issued. In this event, you will need to carry out check-in procedures again at the connecting airport.
  • If you do not have your connecting boarding pass, please proceed to the departure gate or connecting flight check-in counter for your connecting flight and carry out the check-in procedure.

Checked baggage (Re-check)

Regardless of whether your final destination is within the US or abroad, all passengers must go through a customs inspection when entering the United States.

Even if "final destination" is stamped on the baggage tag you were given when you checked your baggage at your departure point, you are still required to collect your baggage here and proceed through Customs.

The baggage collected for the customs inspection can be deposited again at Baggage Drop Off.

  • After completing the customs inspection, please exit the Customs area and proceed to the Baggage Drop Off counter on the right-hand side.
  • Please show your airline ticket or boarding pass and re-check your baggage.

Passengers transferring from other airlines to Japan Airlines

Boarding pass

  • Passengers transferring from other airlines to Japan Airlines should receive a boarding pass for their Japan Airlines flight at the departure airport if there is an agreement between two airlines.
    However, system issues can sometimes mean that the connecting boarding pass cannot be issued. In this event, you will need to carry out check-in procedures again at the connecting airport.
  • If you do not have your connecting boarding pass, please proceed to the departure gate for your connecting JAL flight and carry out the check-in procedure.
  • Important

    • Even if you have a boarding pass for your Japan Airlines flight, you need to present your passport information to the Immigration Bureau in advance of your flight, so please approach the counter or a boarding gate official.

Checked baggage

If you are connecting from an airport within the United States or Canada, and you checked your baggage through to your final destination at your departure point, you do not need to collect your baggage at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
