Terminal 1

On the 2nd floor, there are transit counters, Sky-Train stand for Terminal 3, Sky-Train stan for Terminal, currency exchange offices, toilets and stairs/escalators to the 1st floor.At the 1st floor immigration screening area, there are stairs/elevators from the 2nd floor, immigration screening, baggage claim, customs, currency exchange offices, toilets, stairs/elevators and the exit to outside.

Quarantine

Yellow fever: If you have traveled via a contaminated area within the past 6 days, vaccination is required.

Immigration

Japanese citizens generally do not require a visa for stays of 3 months or less. However, you must have a return or onward airline ticket.
The remaining validity on your passport must be at least 6 months.
When entering Singapore via Changi Airport without a visa, you will be granted a stay up to one month, but the authorities sometimes shorten this to 2 weeks.
It may be possible to extend this to 30 days at the downtown Immigration Office in subsequent days.

  • IMPORTANT
    • Please be aware that smoking in the airport outside of the smoking areas is strictly forbidden.
    • If you have over SGD 20,000 or foreign currency/checks of an equivalent value, you need to declare the total amount of money in your possession when entering and leaving Singapore. There are currency declaration forms available at Immigration when entering and leaving Singapore.

Customs

Duty-free applies to persons aged 18 and above. If you are in excess of the duty-free limit, please go to the counter with the red light and make a verbal declaration.

  • IMPORTANT
    • It is also possible to purchase duty-free items on arrival.
    • All tobacco products are subject to tax.
    • Some tobacco cannot be brought in due to Singapore Customs regulations. Please refer to below URL for more details.

Pets

Prior reservation is necessary if you wish to bring your pet, as the transportation environment within the aircraft needs to be prepared.

Terminal 1

At the 2nd floor boarding area, there are JAL check-inhere are counters, toilets, currency exchange offices, Premier Check-in Lounge, Early Check-in Lounge and Passport Control.Once you pass through immigration control, there are Tax Free counters, currency exchange offices, toilets, Marhaba Lounge and Sky-Train stand for Terminal 2 and 3.

  • IMPORTANT
    • If you have over SGD 20,000 (changed from SGD 30,000 on September 1, 2014) or foreign currency/checks of an equivalent value, you need to declare the total amount of money in your possession when entering and leaving Singapore. There are currency declaration forms available at Immigration when entering and leaving Singapore.

Carry-on baggage Security check

A security inspection is carried out at the entrance to each departure gate. Liquids, sprays, and gels can be taken on the aircraft provided each item is 100ml or less, and the total amount does not exceed one liter. Please note that water and other drinks purchased in the terminal cannot be brought into the departure gate waiting area if they exceed the maximum size.
Alcohol, cosmetics, and other items bought in Changi Airport duty-free shops may be taken onto the aircraft provided that they are in plastic bags approved by airport authorities.
