Advance Seat Selection (international flights)

Key features of seat selection

Book early and get the seat of your choice

With JAL, you can select your seat at the same time you book your flight.

Use seat maps to look for flights on the JAL website

When you book on the JAL website, you can view seat maps to help you choose a flight.

Available any time on the JAL website

You can select or change your seat on the JAL website at any time between booking confirmation and check-in.

Online Check-in makes things even easier

With Online Check-in, you can select your seat and get your boarding pass all in one easy process.

  • Available starting 24 hours before your flight’s departure time.

Get more comfort using the Paid Advance Seat Selection service

The Paid Advance Seat Selection service lets you choose extra legroom seats in Economy Class for a more comfortable travel experience.

What if I can’t select a seat?

The range of seats you can select varies depending on your fare type, how many miles you use, and where you purchased your ticket. Because the number of seats available for selection is limited, you may not be able to select the seat of your choice.

If the seat of your choice is unavailable or there are no seats available for you to select, please check seat availability again when there are 72 hours or less remaining until your flight’s departure.

  • Additional seats may not become available for certain fare types and under certain conditions.
  • If you are traveling on a package tour, you can select your seat through Online Check-in.
