We accept Class J or First Class upgrade on the departure day at the airport if seats are available.
Requesting a Depature dates upgrade
Upgrade requests are available on the JAL website and through the JAL app.
If no empty seats are available, you will be added to the waitlist.

- Upgrades are only available for booked and purchased flights.(If you wish to upgrade to a different flight, please change your booking first before requesting the upgrade.Fare rules determine whether bookings can be changed.)
- Upgrade requests via the JAL website and JAL app, upgrade charge must be paid for with a credit card.
- If you are on the upgrade waitlist and a seat becomes available, you will be called to a service counter at the airport.Please be at the designated location at least 20 minutes before the flight’s departure time.
- You can check the number of standby passengers in real time online.
- To cancel Upgrade Standby, please go to the confirmation screen on the website.
(You cannot cancel a standby all upgrade procedures have been completed. Please tell the airport staff.)
