Transfer fare user guide

If the following conditions are met, travel from the origin to the final destination will be treated as one sector and the transfer fare will apply. The fare will be displayed as "(Fare Type) + Transit". Special conditions apply for using the transfer fare in addition to the fare rules for the base fare.

Eligibility criteria

  • Transfer via specified transfer point(s) on the same day and within 6 hours
  • No more than two transfers via specified transfer points (specific routes only)
  • Traveling in the same class for the entire sector
  • If there are no First Class/Class J seats available on one or more aircraft, the transfer fare will apply even if only part of segment is in First Class/Class J
  • Tickets for all the segments are purchased prior to start of travel

Changes/Cancellation (refund)

Flexible fares (excluding Shareholder's Flex)

  • If changes to part of a sector result in the sector becoming ineligible for the discounted fare, the fare must be refunded and then purchased again.
  • Changing to a direct flight or a transfer flight is possible only before travel on the sector begins. However, the transfer point can be changed only if a transfer fare is available and the origin and destination remain the same.
  • Changes to a sector are not allowed after boarding.
  • Refunds are possible only if all segments are refunded at the same time. Refunds cannot be made for parts within segments.

Shareholder's Flex

  • You will need one JAL Shareholder Discount Coupon for each segment.
    Example:
A single traveler flies from Tokyo (Haneda) to Okinawa (Naha) to Ishigaki on a Transfer fare.
Because one coupon is needed per traveler per segment, the trip requires two coupons.
  • If changes to part of a sector result in the sector becoming ineligible for the discounted fare, the fare must be refunded and then purchased again.
  • Rerouting is not allowed before the sector departs. The fare must first be refunded and then purchased again.
  • Changes to a sector are not allowed after boarding.
  • Refunds are possible only if all segments are refunded at the same time. Refunds cannot be made for parts within segments.

Non-flexible fares

  • Refunds are possible only if all segments are refunded at the same time. (For Round Trip Saver, only when both outbound and inbound portions are refunded.) Refunds cannot be made for parts within segments.
