Pay at convenience stores (in Japan)

You may pay for domestic flight tickets booked through the JAL website or JAL call center (Domestic Reservation and Information) at convenience stores in Japan.

  • Payment is accepted by cash only and limited to ¥300,000 per transaction.

The procedure differs depending on the convenience store you select, please check how to use the convenience store.

Participating stores

Applicable deadlines

LAWSON, MINISTOP, FamilyMart, Daily Yamazaki, and Yamazaki Daily Stores, Seicomart: Until the day of boarding (up to 20 minutes before flight departure)

7-Eleven: Up to the day before the boarding date.

  • Please note that there may be a reservation deadline and ticket purchase period depending on the type of fare.
  • Please complete the procedures as early as possible so that you can pass through security at least 20 minutes prior to the departure time. You may not be able to board your flight if you do not complete these procedures by the specified times.

About reservations

Book your domestic flight ticket through the JAL website or JAL Contact Center.

If you are a JAL Mileage Bank member, when making a booking, please provide your JMB number.

  • If you have enrolled to JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) online but have not yet received your membership card, please follow the flow as a non-JMB member to pay.

On the day of departure

JAL Mileage Bank members: Please bring your JMB card or JALCARD

Non JAL Mileage Bank members: Please bring ticket number*

  • You will receive it via email or SMS after the payment is completed.
  • If you prepare your IC card or 2D barcode in advance, you will be able to use the JAL Touch & Go service for smooth boarding on the departure date.

Notes on making convenience store payments

Receipts

The ‘receipt’ or ‘statement of charges’ delivered at the convenience store or ATM when you complete your purchase can be used as a receipt, however, it is not a receipt that complies compliant with the method to be retained for qualified invoice, etc. which is stipulated by the Consumption Tax Law of Japan. If necessary, please use the electronic receipt on the JAL Web site.

Booking changes and cancellations

Tickets can be booked via the JAL website or the JAL Contact Center.

  • As reservations cannot be changed using in-store terminals.
  • If your sector includes one or more already traveled segments and you make changes to the sector that result in an additional fare amount, you cannot pay the additional amount by convenience store. Please contact the JAL Contact Center.

Refunds

Payment will be refunded to the specified bank account.

  • You must enter a payment number when requesting a refund.
  • For refunds to a Japan Post Bank account, you must provide the branch name, account type, account number, and account holder’s name as required for Japanese Bankers Association transfers. Your current Japan Post Bank account number (code/number) cannot be used for transfers. Please visit the Japan Post Bank website to obtain a number for use in money transfers.
  • You must request a refund before the refund expiration date.
  • Once the request is processed, the funds will be transferred to the specified account within 5 business days. (*1)
  1. It may be longer under certain circumstances, such as bank or other system failures or large-scale flight disruptions due to inclement weather or other causes.

Other

  • Payment services are only available for bookings of up to 6 people and up to 4 segments.
  • Payment services may not be available for certain bookings (fare type, length of passenger names, etc.) or at certain times of day.
  • If payment is not made within 30 minutes of a payment request slip being issued from the multimedia terminal in a convenience store, the request slip will be rendered void. Please have a new request slip issued.
  • If payment transaction is interrupted, the booking will be locked for 10 minutes.
  • If you forget to bring the required boarding documents (e.g. JMB Card/JALCARD, ticket number), you will not be able to obtain a ticket or boarding pass. You will need to purchase a new ticket at the airport.
