To enable us to take extra special care of your pet, please ensure you arrive at the check-in counter at least 40 minutes prior to departure. Pre-payment of the pet fee will enable the process to be completed more smoothly. (With pre-payment the process will take around 5 minutes, while payment on the day will require around 10 minutes.)
For passengers checking in sports equipment or musical instruments
Due to safety checks and other procedures that need to be performed when checking in sports equipment and music instruments.Please pack in advance and ensure you arrive at the check-in counter by the times shown below.If any items are not packed in a case,it may take time for them to be packed correctly.
Also, there are restrictions on the size (length) of baggage that can be checked in.Especially in the case of small aircraft, we may not be able to accept long or big items due to limitation of cargo compartment . Even if the length is within the guideline.

New style Self Check In machine and Self Baggage Drop
Self-Service kiosk that can issue baggage tags, and also Self Baggage Drop machines have been introduced at Haneda New Chitose Airport, Itami Airport, Fukuoka Airport and Naha Airport.
Cabin baggage size (dimensions, weight) and piece number limits
The size of baggage you can carry to the cabin depends on the number of seats on the plane.
Please pack your baggage to fits in the size regulations below in advance.
- Item that exeeds the maximum total dimensions cannot be carried to the cabin, even each linear dimension is within the requirement.
- If your baggage is oversized or overweight, or unable to be appropriately stowed in the cabin, it may need to be checked in cargo compartment at the boarding gate or cabin.
- To passenger traveling with small aircraft less than 100 seats, it is recommended to check in your baggage or to use other means of transportation in advance.

Following guidelines from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport security checks at airports have been tightened.
There are certain types of scissors and knives that are prohibited from being brought onboard. If these items are brought on board a fine of up to JPY500,000 could be applied for breaching aviation law.
If such prohibited items are found you will have the option of either checking them in, or disposing of them in the disposal bins provided.

To ensure a smooth security check process
- Please remove metal objects (mobile phones, keys etc.), laptop computers, and plastic drink bottles from your hand baggage at the checkpoint.
Please take off shoes that hide your ankles. Slippers are available for you to wear.
Please remove your jacket and place it in the tray.
Please remove electronic devices from your bag and place them in the tray.
Removal all liquids from your bag and place them in the tray.
To ensure a smooth boarding process
Please consider using JAL’s Touch & Go service to enjoy a smooth boarding experience. Passengers without checked-in baggage can go directly to the boarding gate.

- Please stow your baggage in the overhead compartment or under the seat in front of you.
- Please check in any baggage that are too heavy to lift into the overhead compartment by yourself.
- To avoid obstacle in the event of an emergency evacuation, carry-on baggage cannot be placed in front of the emergency exit, at your feet or on your lap during take-off and landing.
- Please fasten your seat belt tight and low, and make sure it is not loose.
When using a blanket, please make sure to fasten your seat belt over the blanket.
- Please keep your seat belt fastened at all times for a sudden turbulence even when the seat belt sign is off.
- Please make sure to keep your seat belt fastened until the sign goes off as the aircraft may move again after stopping.
- You are not allowed to use your own seat belt extensions.
- Please support yourself immediately to prevent injuries from falling down or being lifted up in case of sudden turbulence during flight.
The specific countermeasures are as follows.
- Please set your devices to the mode which do not emit radio waves or turn them off when required by cabin attendants.
- Kids Phone by NTT Docomo, Junior Phone by au and Mimamori Series by Softbank must be turned off completely in advance.
During take-off and landing
- Please pay close attention to the safety video and refer to the safety instructions leaflet prior to take-off.
- Please return your seat back and table to their original positions during take-off or landing.
Requests to the passengers who are seated in emergency exit row seats or bulkhead seats
- Passengers seated in emergency exit row seats are asked to assist evacuation by cabin attendants’ instructions.
- Air travel may cause unexpected injuries due to the different environments and facilities from those on ground.
- Please be careful not to trip over a gentle slope of the path between the boarding gate and the aircraft door, or the gap between the path floor and the aircraft door.
- Smoking and the use of E-cigarettes or similar products are prohibited in the cabin including the restrooms.
- Please refrain from filming and recording other passengers and cabin attendants without their consent, as it may impede safety and cabin attendants’ duties.
- Convenient goods can be used only if the following 4 points are fully satisfied.
Even if the above conditions are met, goods may cannot be used at captain’s or cabin attendant’s discretion due to safety reasons.
・The safety of passengers is ensured.
・Seat belts can be fastened in the correct position.
・It is not inconvenient to other passengers.
・It does not damage the aircraft or facility and not interfere with flight operation.
