JAL Group extends its deepest condolences to those who have lost loved ones as a result of the earthquake and tsunami on September 28, and we extend our sincerest sympathies to all who have been impacted by this disaster.
To assist the effort for quick recovery, JAL Group decided to offer support and assistance through donation. We also ask for cooperation from JMB members to support the people affected by the earthquake and tsunami through Charity Miles.
Kopernik is a NPO that undertakes activities for "Connecting country to country," "Environmental conservation," "Improving sanitation and health in developing countries," (Safety and Security) and "Improving children's lives and expanding the opportunity to study" (Nurturing the next generation). These activities also resonate with the CSR activities of the JAL Group. Since 2013, we have been engaged in the Connecting People to People, Bridging Japan and the World Project to expand the impact of such activities through collaboration.
JAL will offer ongoing support to Kopernilk's activities, including the provision of air tickets.
Considering the devastating situation caused by the earthquake and tsunami in Sulawesi, Indonesia, we will support Kopernik's activities by sending emergency support kits such as water filters, solar lights which can be used as "rechargeable mobile phone chargers" and food supplies to the victims of this earthquake and tsunami.
