What is JAL International Award Ticket PLUS?

The number of miles required to redeem award tickets varies depending on the itinerary and seat availability on the flight at the time of booking.
If there are no seats available on the flight that can be booked using the lowest number of miles (base miles), you can book using additional miles, which vary depending on the estimated number of remaining seats (Award Ticket PLUS).

Award Ticket PLUS is not applicable to First Class.
You can check the required number of miles for your desired itinerary via the JAL website's seat availability check pages.

In addition to the mileage listed below, award tickets will be subject to fuel surcharges, insurance surcharges, and other taxes and fees (airport departure and arrival taxes, airport usage fees, etc.) imposed by each government/airport.

Fuel Surcharge and Insurance Surcharge for International Flights

Certain classes of service may not be available depending on the route or operating aircraft.
Awards issued for children and infants who occupy their own seat require the same mileage as for adults. Awards issued for infants sharing a seat with an adult are issued at 10% of the applicable adult mileage level only if the accompanying adult travels on the same award type.
