From April 10, 2025 (Thursday) "One-Time Password" authentication system has been introduced for JAL domestic and international award tickets.

What are JAL International Award Tickets?

JAL International Award Tickets allow you to redeem your miles for travel on JAL international flights. Awards can be redeemed starting at 7,500 miles for one-way travel and 15,000 miles for round-trip travel.

Eligible Routes

JAL international flights

  • Codeshare flights operated by other airlines are not eligible.
  • Some flights may be canceled or operate only on certain days or during certain seasons. Also, other sectors may not be eligible. Non eligible flights and routes are subject to change without prior notice.
  • To comply with U.S. transportation rules, itineraries*1 between two cities in the U.S. (including Hawaii and Guam) via Japan must include at least one international flight that is operated by a U.S. carrier.

For itinerary that includes Japan domestic sectors

  • Japan Airlines (JAL)/Japan Transocean Air (JTA) domestic routes are eligible for award tickets.
  • Ryukyu Air Commuter (RAC) and codeshare flights operated by other airlines are not eligible.
  • When booking First Class or Business Class for the international sector of an itinerary, Class J is permitted for the connecting domestic sector if a seat is available at the time of booking. (Award travel in First Class for the domestic sector is not permitted.)
