Introducing JAL International Award Ticket PLUS

JAL International Award Ticket PLUS ("PLUS") is a new service that allows you to redeem additional miles to book award travel for requests that would be waitlisted under the conventional JAL International Award Tickets structure.

The current required mileage levels ("base miles") and bookings with base miles will remain the same, and some routes will even require fewer miles than the existing mileage levels. However, with the launch of JAL International Award Ticket PLUS, some changes such as reservation changes will be made to the associated rules.

  • *JAL International Award Ticket PLUS is not applicable to First Class.
  • *To change a reservation, please cancel/refund*1 your existing award ticket and then book a new ticket for your desired itinerary.
*1 Refund charge: ¥3,100 (tax included)
  • *There will be no changes to the rules for JAL International Upgrade Awards, JMB Partner Airlines Award Tickets or oneworld Award Tickets.

The above required miles (one way) are shown as an example for illustrative purposes.

  • *1No changes will be made to award tickets that can be booked with base miles.
  • *2Remaining number of available seats (forecast) is a forecast of final seat availability.

Depending on seat availability (such as flights that are fully booked), award tickets may not be available for booking.

Current award structure

Even if your outbound flight is confirmed, a waitlisted return flight that cannot be successfully booked can result in abandoned travel plans.

After PLUS launch

By redeeming additional miles, both your outbound and return flights can be booked - ensuring that your travel plans are not affected.

There will be no changes to the required base miles for JAL International Award Tickets after the launch of JAL International Award Ticket PLUS.
