We will show you how to use our support services for disabled athletes.
To begin with
Please let us know about your walking condition.
Even if walking by yourself is difficult, if you can move to the exit with the power of your upper arms, etc., please let us know at the time of the reservation.
In order to secure space for loading wheelchairs, even if reservations are made on an individual basis for boarding as a team, we ask for your cooperation and understanding to collectively inform us about the wheelchair information.
With regards to the reservation process and the details of procedures done in advance, please check "Advance Procedures (Information About the Reservation Process)".
About Traveling Companions
Customers who find it difficulties to take care of your personal things by themselves are requested to fly with someone accompanying in the same class.
Those people accompanying should please provide care and assistance at the airport, and in cabin, and should please give guidance and assistance at the time of an emergency.
At the time of the reservation
Domestic reservation
To register information on your wheelchair or any support you need, please either contact us by phone or use the JAL website.
When registering, please be prepared to provide the size (height, width, depth) and weight of both the daily-use and competition wheelchairs.
When using codeshare flights, such things as the seat reservation and how to check wheelchairs may differ.
International reservation
We accept reservations at the JAL call center. If you need any assistance at the airport or on the airplane, please let us know at the time of the reservation.
If you make a reservation on the JAL website, you will not be able to register any assistance that you need, or information about wheelchairs. Please contact the Special Assistance Desk after making the reservation.
Also, if you are using a wheelchair for competition, please tell us the details for both your daily use wheelchair and your competition wheelchair, such as the size (height, width, depth) and weight.

About wheelchairs
If you are participating in an athletic event, you may be boarding with many athletes.
Depending on the type of aircraft that you are boarding, there might be restrictions on the number of wheelchairs that it is possible to load into the space of the cargo compartment. We ask that you please give us the wheelchair information as soon as possible.
Also, in the case of flying on a small aircraft, sometimes we may ask you to separately send the competition wheelchair.
About seat reservations
If you request for seat assignments on a team basis, as much as possible we will try to arrange it so that you are seated together, but in some cases we might not be able to fulfill requests. We appreciate your understanding.
With regards to the position of your seat in the cabin, please check the page with the cabin seat layouts for domestic and international flights.

Other baggages
Besides wheelchairs, if you bring sporting device, please inform us at the time of the reservation (wheel bags, throwing platforms and air pumps, etc.)
Flow of Events at the Departure Airport
Check-In Procedures
Staff can guide you from the check-in counter to the cabin of the airplane if requested. Please consult with us at the time of the reservation.
About the approximate time for procedures
If you need the assistance of staff to move within the airport, please come to the airport as early as possible.
About airport facilities and device
For facilities at the airport, such as barrier-free restrooms, please check domestic airport information and international airport information.

Security Check
It is done with the same details and in the same manner as other customers. (Simplification of the security check due to disabilities, or preferential treatment, are not possible.)
Be sure to go through the portal gate one by one. In some cases a pat-down screening may be necessary, but please be assured that the security check staff will tell you what to do.
Boarding
Pre-boarding service
For customers who request for assistance, as soon as the cabin is ready, we board them to the flight first. To ensure that boarding is smooth and departures are as scheduled, we may ask you to gather at the boarding gate earlier than usual, or to board earlier than usual. We will tell you the time to gather at the boarding gate when you check-in.
Inflight
Medical device
If you are using medical device such as oxygen bottles for medical use, or artificial respirators, in the aircraft cabin, please refer to "Customers who bring and use medical device".

Special inflight meals
Please let us know in advance if you would like meals that are easy to digest.
On-board wheelchairs
On-board wheelchairs are available.
A belt is available that fastens the upper body to stabilize yourself when in a sitting position.

When Arriving
At the time of arrival, if you request to use your own wheelchair from the arrival gate, we will accept such requests when possible. Please consult with us at the time of the reservation.
