Customers who use an oxygen bottle
At the time of the reservation
Oxygen bottles fall under hazardous material for air transportation, and only oxygen bottles for medical use are permitted for air transport.
The oxygen bottle specification certificate needs to be submitted with a description of the oxygen bottle number, expiration date (container re-inspection deadline), size and weight.
Portable concentrated oxygen cans for sports, O2 Pack, oxygen Generators(excluding those that generate oxygen through electrolysis or filter decomposition) or liquid oxygen cannot be carried into the cabin or kept in the cargo hold.
In addition, when used inside the cabin, a medical certificate prescribed by the airline carrier is required that has been filled out an attending physician.
*International flights - For routes that depart from and arrive in the U.S. (Guam included), under the laws of the U.S., the oxygen bottles of customers are prohibited from being check or brought onboard.
When customer oxygen bottles for medical use are used in the cabin, or are kept in the cargo hold, the following conditions must be satisfied.
We will confirm the suitability of transport with the "Oxygen bottle specification certificate" issued by the vendor that rented the oxygen bottle.
- It is gas or oxygen for medical use (air). (Liquids are not allowed.)
- The container durability has been certified under Japan's High Pressure Gas Safety Act.
- It has received a three year durability certification inspection (five years in some cases).
- Oxygen bottles up to 70 cm in height and about 10 cm in diameter can be carried, and the total weight per bottle is limited to 5 kg or less (including the carrier bag).
*For products made overseas, confirm that the container meets the requirements of 2 above, or that its durability has been certified by the laws and regulations of the country of departure.

About seat reservations
We will provide information about the seat where the oxygen bottles do not become an obstruction at the time of an emergency evacuation in principle.

About portable oxygen concentrators (POC)
You can use it inside the cabin just like an oxygen bottle. Please inform us of the product name, manufacturer name, model number and battery type. When used inside the cabin, a medical certificate prescribed by the airline carrier that has been filled out an attending physician needs to be presented.

About Traveling Companions
For operating and assisting with the oxygen bottles, we ask that the accompanying person board in the same class.
Including the operation of the oxygen bottles, those people accompanying should please provide care and assistance at the airport, when boarding, during the flight and when deplaning, and should please give guidance and assistance at the time of an emergency.

About operation of oxygen bottles
The cabin crew are not able to operate the oxygen bottles because it would be medical intervention.
Location where oxygen bottles should be put
To use, the customer should please put it sideways under their seat.
Please prepare a tube of sufficient length.
*If it cannot be stored under the seat, then you will need to purchase an additional seat in order to fasten it to the seat.

About the approximate time for procedures
We will check the oxygen specification certificate and the oxygen bottles for medical use. Since it may take a while to check, please arrive so there is enough time.

Security Check
It is done with the same details and in the same manner as other customers. Simplification of the security check due to disabilities, or preferential treatment, are not possible.
Be sure to go through the metal detector one by one. In some cases a pat-down screening may be necessary, but please be assured that the security staff will tell you what to do.
If you have any concerns, please tell us at the time of the reservation, or at the airport counter on the day of the flight date.
Boarding
For customers who request to use this service, please tell the boarding gate staff as soon as possible.

For customers who request for assistance, as soon as the cabin is ready, we board them to the flight first. For customers who request to use this service, please tell the boarding gate staff as soon as possible.
At the time of the reservation

For customers who need oxygen therapy onboard the airplane, we have a service to rent oxygen bottles for medical use. (A fee is charged)
Please arrange yourself when using within the airport.
Customers who require oxygen therapy onboard the airplane need to present a medical certificate prescribed by the airline carrier.

About the required LPM flow rate
The JAL rental oxygen bottles supply oxygen through a respiration synchronizer. Please let us know the required flow rate that was diagnosed by your attending physician. After this has been reported, we will calculate the necessary number of bottles and start to arrange them.
The number of oxygen bottles available for rent is limited. Please let us know the flow rate as soon as possible.

About operation of oxygen bottles
lease operate the oxygen bottle yourself, or have the person accompanying you do it. We will send you an operation manual in advance, so please read it as soon as possible. There is also a video on our website explaining the operation of the oxygen bottles that JAL rents out, so please look at this as well.

JAL oxygen bottle specifications and accessories
The oxygen bottles for medical use have a filling capacity of 300 liters. The flow rate can be adjusted from 0.5-6 liters per minute.
It comes with a respiration synchronizer and nasal cannula as accessories.
